Why this episode matters
Connor’s story is basically the story of every kid who dreams big…
He wanted to play D1 baseball.
He wanted to get drafted.
He wanted to play for the New York Yankees.
But coming out of high school? No offers.
So he took a fifth year.
Got discovered.
Played college ball.
Got hurt.
Didn’t get drafted.
Then on his last weekend of college baseball, his coach calls him into the office. A scout was interested in him…
But it’s not the Yankees.
It’s the Savannah Bananas.
At first he was disappointed. It wasn’t the dream to wear bright yellow uniforms and do TikTok dances while he pitches.
But he showed up anyway.
He crushed his 6-week tryout, got drafted in the first-ever Banana Ball Draft, and his entire life changed. Before even putting on the yellow jersey, he built a fanbase of MILLIONS.
This episode is about what happens when the dream changes, and the new one ends up even better than the old one.
